Maurizio Sarri is convinced about £22m Tottenham player, he wants to sign him this month

Maurizio Sarri is reportedly eager to sign Bryan Gil for Lazio this month, with Tottenham eager to offload the Spanish winger.

It has been another frustrating season for the former Sevilla playmaker, with Gil again struggling to find any sort of form in the Premier League under new Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou.

Having gone out on loan twice already since moving to north London for £22m, Gil’s career with Tottenham feels like a bust, with a move once again being touted this January.

And , Lazio are now interested in signing Gil, with the likes of ACF Fiorentina and Feyenoord also being linked with the youngster this month.

As per the report, former Chelsea manager Sarri was interested in signing Gil for Lazio in the summer, and the Italian coach could now lead a renewed effort to sign the Tottenham winger.

Indeed, the north London side are eager to offload Gil this month, and a move to Italy to Lazio could be a well-suited move for the forward, who needs to rediscover his creative spark on the pitch.

Gil is clearly a talented player who has fallen victim to the monster machine that is the Premier League, with many brilliant prospects falling victim over the years.

Yet given how young Gil is, there’s still plenty of time for the Spaniard to have an incredible career for himself, and Lazio could be the destination for the winger.

The Roman club are no strangers to transforming Premier League outcasts into absolute superstars, and Gil could be the next player to undergo such a change if a deal can be reached this January.
