Former boss Thomas Christiansen has a message for Leeds United pair

Leeds United have followed up the new contract handed to Kalvin Phillips earlier this week with new improved deals for centre-back Liam Cooper and utility player Stuart Dallas.

, Cooper has signed a new five-year deal keeping him at Elland Road until 2024. Dallas has signed a deal that will expire in the summer of 2023.

The new deals are just rewards for the pair’s impressive turnaround at Elland Road, especially since the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa as head coach.

Before being transformed by the Argentine, not many Leeds fans would have been excited about new deals for the divisive duo.

They struggled under previous Leeds managers, including Thomas Christiansen.

Neither player showcased their best form when the Spaniard was in charge of the club for the first half of the 2017-18 season.

But Christiansen is still happy to see his old players doing so well. The 46-year-old, who is now in charge of Belgian outfit Union Saint-Gilloise, took to Twitter to congratulate the Leeds United duo on their new contracts.

Leeds fans are also undoubtedly pleased to see two of their most improved players sign new deals this week.

Hopefully, they can continue to progress under the guidance of Bielsa.
