Stoke City have decided to part ways with manager Gary Rowett, .
Rowett left Derby County to take over at Stoke in the summer and many fans expected to storm the league this season.
But Stoke have struggled under Rowett, picking up just eight wins in 26 games.
Stoke sit 14th in the Championship table, eight points off the play-offs and 13 points from the relegation zone.
With Rowett’s dismissal looking inevitable recently, media reports have been circulating linking various managers with the job.
One name that keeps popping up is David Moyes – most recently at West Ham – with .
Others like Alan Pardew and Sam Allardyce will inevitably be linked in due course but Stoke should look elsewhere.
Slavisa Jokanovic is the perfect candidate for the job, having delivered promotion for Fulham last season.
Jokanovic had the Cottagers playing some impressive football and he could take Stoke back to the Premier League.
Admittedly, this season may be out of his reach but he could start building the foundations for a promotion bid next term.
The Serbian boss would have some quality players at his disposal and his exciting brand of football would get more out of them than Rowett’s more conservative approach.
Stoke should resist the temptation to bring in a Moyes-like manager and instead be bold by appointing Jokanovic.
