Folarin Balogun posts on Instagram after signing Arsenal deal, William Saliba responds
Folarin Balogun has posted on Instagram after the striker put pen to paper on a four-year deal until the summer of 2025 with Arsenal – and William Saliba has responded with a two-word verdict on his post.
Balogun, 19, is considered one of the most-exciting talents to come through the academy in recent seasons – so much so that Mikel Arteta has handed the Under-23’s captain some senior game time. He has played six times this term.
The New-York born striker has scored two senior goals for The Gunners, while the England Under-20 international has also netted 10 goals in 19 appearances for the club’s second string. But his contract was up this summer.
Following months of speculation surrounding his contract situation, an announcement was finally made on Monday afternoon as the Gunners and Balogun came to an agreement on a four-year deal. Balogun has posted on Instagram.
Balogun has plenty of competition ahead of him, but his signing might just be a sign that a striker shake-up could be on the horizon. Pierre-Emerick Aubemayeng, Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli are options.
Saliba, who is currently on loan at OGC Nice where Patrick Vieira last managed, delivered an instant response to Balogun’s post – commenting a two-word verdict. Cedric Soares also replied.
