Fofana names £100,000-a-week Liverpool man as his toughest ever opponent ahead of Salah and Kane

Wesley Fofana spoke to yesterday and the Frenchman was quizzed about his toughest opponent in the Premier League.
The defender came to England as a teenager last season and surprised everyone. He hit the ground running under Brendan Rodgers and his performances convinced people that he’s a top-quality defender.
Fofana came up against some of the best players in the country last season. He faced the likes of Mo Salah, Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling, but he has named a player tougher than all of the above.
The Leicester City star has claimed that Liverpool’s Sadio Mane is the toughest player he has ever played against.
Fofana: Sadio Mane is the toughest to play against
Asked to name the toughest opponent he has come across in the Premier League since he joined Leicester City, Fofana said without any hesitation: “Sadio Mane.
“When I was in one-v-one situations with him, it was very, very tough. Each duel, each time he gets the ball, he wants to do damage.”
Mo Salah is Liverpool’s best player, there’s no doubt about that, but the Egyptian’s phenomenal form has made a few people forget how good a footballer Mane really is for the Reds.

The Senegal international has scored eight goals in 13 starts this season, which is a very impressive record. Salah’s numbers are higher, but that’s because the Egyptian is having the best season of his career.
It will be interesting to see how close Mane will get to Salah’s numbers at the end of the season.
It is unlikely that he’ll overtake the former Chelsea man, but football is a funny game, and it’s not beyond the Senegal star to go on a crazy goalscoring run from now until the end of the campaign.
