Five players Arsenal should sign this summer to push for the title next season

With one of the biggest questions at the Emirates being solved just a fortnight after the domestic season came to a close, it’s now known that Arsene Wenger will be the man in charge next season.

Awarded with a new two-year extension after his FA Cup final victory over rivals Chelsea, the long-standing Arsenal boss now needs to focus his attentions on recruiting the right players this window.

The 67-year-old has been criticised in recent years for his unwillingness to spend big during the transfer windows but, after their fifth-place finish this year, Wenger has no choice but to invest.

Riyad Mahrez – Leicester City

With a made earlier in the week, it’s now no secret that Leicester City’s talisman is searching for a new club after leading his side to an unlikely Premier League title in 2016.

Despite not enjoying his best season in the top-flight as the Foxes narrowly avoided getting themselves into a relegation battle, the 26-year-old Algerian still has bags of potential to give.

His trickery with both feet, added to his pace on the counter-attack and his footballing intelligence in the final third, means that he is the perfect player to link up with the likes of Alexis Sanchez.

With the Gunners struggling for top-quality strength in depth in midfield Mahrez could be the man to come in and give the North London side the boost they need as they look to challenge back near the top.
