‘Final stages’: Tottenham now close to second signing with Werner after ‘positive talks’

Tottenham are close to adding what could be a second signing of the January window after positive talks with Genoa over Radu Dragusin.

Spurs are getting a move on in the winter window to make sure they give Ange Postecoglou some new players to bolster the team’s push for a top four spot.

Reports over the weekend have suggested Timo Werner is close to signing. The German is expected to sign on loan, with an option included for Spurs to make it permanent.

And now, it looks like Tottenham are close to making it two out of two, with a move for defender Radu Dragusin now progressing.

to Fabrizio Romano, talks over a deal to bring Dragusin to Spurs have now progressed and negotiations are at the ‘final stages’.

Dragusin has emerged as Postecoglou’s number one target in defence this month.

It was reported this morning that Dragusin was prepared to reject offers from Napoli in order to get a move to Tottenham done. And now, it seems like he is going to get his way.

Spurs leading the way

While other clubs seem to be getting their house in order and playing it cool in January, Tottenham are just not messing about whatsoever.

The signing of Werner has caught everyone by surprise. But the signing of Dragusin is a bit more obvious and it’s clear he’s a player they’ve wanted all window so far.

Landing both Werner and Dragusin so early in the window will feel huge for the club. It means they’ll have got two big deals over the line and won’t have to worry about frantically trying to do business in the final days of January.

Postecoglou wanted backing. And it looks like he’s getting his way.

Whether or not anymore new faces will arrive, is a case of wait and see. But Tottenham have got off to a rapid start here and the fans will be delighted.
