Fernandez shares what new owners have told Newcastle squad behind the scenes
Federico Fernandez has told AS – – that Newcastle’s new owners want to speak, when players return from international duty.
Videos shared by the club saw Fernandez, among other players, including captain Jamaal Lascelles, speaking to the Newcastle players this week.
The group, financially backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund – who own 80% – have been open and communicative with fans.
Speaking last week, they were delighted with the response from supporters but urged patience as they conducted a review. Steve Bruce remains.
Newcastle defender Fernandez said that Amanda Staveley has spoken to the players – but is waiting to do a proper chat, when others return.
The likes of Miguel Almiron, Jamal Lewis, Jeff Hendrick, Emil Krafth, Ryan Fraser and others have been involved internationally.
“We had the opportunity to meet the owners after training. They agreed to return soon because now there are many who are with the national teams.
“They told us that they want to have a talk to convey what they have already said publicly. That it will be something gradual that will take time.”

Fernandez on owners: Communication big for Newcastle
Having gone so long without a hands-on approach from Mike Ashley, the feeling of a new boardroom that engage with players and fans is exciting.
Staveley addressed the reports that Bruce could be sacked on Friday. Confirming that he will manage his 1000th game against Tottenham.
It has been met with a good reaction from fans. They would rather have seen the back of Bruce – but are happy to have received a statement.
But the communication from the owners will not just be loved by fans, but also by the players. There is a feel-good factor at the club right now.
