Federico Chiesa update given live from Liverpool training ground as medical takes place

Liverpool fans are anxiously waiting for Federico Chiesa to be announced as a new player as his medical goes on at the training ground.

Arne Slot already has plenty of attackers at this disposal at Liverpool but it’s the versatility and long-term interest in Federico Chiesa that really seems to have pushed this one through.

There are even people inside Liverpool who hope that Chiesa can emulate Diogo Jota.

With four goals already scored in the first two games, there’s no immediate need for attacking reinforcements but squad depth is a good thing to have.

It was reported yesterday that Chiesa had arrived for his medical at Liverpool.

And, Sky Sports have now provided the latest update on his current situation…

Federico Chiesa medical latest revealed on Sky at Liverpool traning ground

Speaking live on , Vinny O’Connor has given Liverpool fans some good news regarding Chiesa.

“A lot of the medical was done yesterday. It’s progressing I think and it’s a case of I don’t think an announcement is imminent at the moment, but we’re certainly expecting no hitches before that deadline”

So, it looks like it a potential announcement for the attacker could come this evening or tomorrow, with there still some things to be done.

Is Liverpool the right move for Chiesa?

The Italian bagged 10 goals and three assists last season at Juventus, which isn’t the worst of returns.

Everyone knows he has the quality, hence why the Reds have been chasing him for so long, but he’s had troubles unlocking it at times.

Jurgen Klopp wanted to sign Chiesa for Liverpool and he knows a thing or two about signing good players, so there’s no reason for fans to be worried.

It remains to be seen as to what role he’ll play under Arne Slot, who has opted for Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah as his starting attacking three this season.

Chiesa may take some time to settle in as the Premier League is a whole new kettle of fish, so there’s no immediate rush to throw him straight into the thick of things anyway.
