Federico Chiesa has decided which club he wants to join with interest from Barcelona and Liverpool
Liverpool have shown late interest in a deal for Federico Chiesa but they face fierce competition from Barcelona.
It has been an eerily quiet transfer window for the Reds so far, but with Giorgi Mamardashvili’s move to Liverpool now imminent and interest in Federico Chiesa, it could be about to spark into life.
Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool have made contact for Chiesa as they look to make a late addition to Arne Slot’s squad.
Liverpool had previously pushed hard to strengthen their midfield but Martin Zubimendi rejected a move to Merseyside and they have now turned their attention to bolstering their front line.
Juventus are willing to part ways with Chiesa this summer and the 26-year-old has attracted interest from the Premier League as well as Barcelona.
The Serie A giants are only looking for a fee of around £13million for Chiesa.

Federico Chiesa decides which club he wants to join
Before Liverpool entered the race, it was reported that Chiesa wanted to join Barcelona despite holding talks with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham.
Liverpool hoped that they could lure Chiesa to Anfield to play in the Premier League, but reports from Spain suggest Chiesa still has his heart set on a move to Catalonia.
According to , Barcelona are still confident of landing Chiesa provided they can free up the finances to register him in Hansi Flick’s squad.
It adds that Chiesa is prepared to wait this week for Barcelona to sort their financial conditions as he is determined to join the Spanish side.
Another transfer blow for Liverpool
This is not the first time Liverpool have been snubbed by a transfer target. The likes of Romeo Lavia, Moises Caicedo and Zubimendi had all been on the brink of joining Liverpool only to turn down a move.
In truth, Chiesa’s move to Liverpool hasn’t advanced very far, but his determination to join Barcelona is still a blow to the Reds.
With just three days remaining until the transfer window slams shut, Liverpool now face a race against the clock to identify any other late targets.
