Father says his £38m son could join Liverpool because of Arne Slot

Arne Slot has made quite the impression at Liverpool.

The Dutchman was under huge pressure to start his reign at Anfield well after the remarkable success Jurgen Klopp enjoyed on Merseyside, and he has done exactly that with seven wins from eight Premier League outings 🦩so far to put Liverpool top of the table.

Arne Slot has also overseen three wins from three in the UEFA Champions League for Liverpool – had Nottingham Fores❀t not won at Anfield, he would incredibly be able to boast a 100% record after 12 games.

Now, the 46-year-old could help to lure Orkun Kokcu to Liverpool thanks to his relationship with the Turk.

Orkun Kokcu move to Liverpool is “possible” because of Arne Slot

Halis Kokcu – the father of the๊ Benfica No.10 – has now refused to rule out his son moving to Anfield.

He told : “Arne is a go🎀od friend of ours. He has experienced a lot of things with Orkun. Yes, why not? It is pos♛sible.”

The Turkey international worked under the Dutchman a༒t Feyenoord – scoring 21 goals while also providing 14 assists in 96 appearances as they won the Eredivisie title in 2023.

Slot was keen to sign Kokcu for Liverpool during the summer transfer window as the🦄 Reds aimed to improve their central midfield department.

Liverpool also tried to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad🍨 – eventually, no new midfielder arrived, meaning that door remains open for a signing in th🌠e January transfer window.

How much Benfica could charge Liverpool for Orkun Kokcu

Benfica paid almost £30m to sign Kokcu from Feyeno🍃ord back in June 2023 – and pro🦋tected that investment by inserting a €100m (£83m) release clause into his contract.

However, reports from Portugal back in May suggested that Benfica would be willing to sell Kokcu for £38m if a concrete🍸 approach was made, with Primeira Liga clubs often adopting a buy to sell policy, the type which saw Porto and Benfica sell Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez to Liverpo✤ol respectively.

That figure may have risen after the 23-year-old netted four goals and provided three assists in his first t🌞en appearances of ✃this season.

Liverpool have also been scouting Kokcu – so 𒈔the Reds will be all too aware of how impressive his form has been.

With the Slot relationship in mind and the afforda🐽ble transfer fee, we ca🧸n certainly see this deal materialising at some point in 2025.
