Father of Tottenham-linked striker comments on chances of a move in January

Krzysztof Piatek’s father has told Polish outlet that his son is keen on a move to England this month, and that it would take a fee of £29.5million for AC Milan to accept a move.

Piatek, 24, has scored just five goals in 19 appearances this season and the January signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic has seen the Poland international become second choice. It is a far cry from his excellent 2018-19 form.

Indeed, the ex-Genoa ace scored 30 goals in 42 games last season – netting 19 in 21 for Genoa before scoring 11 in another 21 for Milan. He has been heavily linked with a move, with he is one of five strikers interesting Spurs.

Spurs desperately need a striker and the comments made by Piatek’s father will come as a huge boost to the north London club, as they have been given a price needed to sign the Milan star – and that he is keen on a move to England.

“Krzysztof wants to define himself. He certainly does not agree with the role of the substitute. He wants to play so he can be in shape for the Euros, so he must perform regularly. He is willing to change club. He is most interested in the English league.

“It seems to me that Krzysztof is already mentally focused on leaving. Of course, if nobody puts out the money, it may turn out that Krzysztof will not go anywhere, but for English clubs, €35million (£29.5million) is not much,”

TBR’s view – A move that would benefit all parties, surely?

Piatek is desperate to move to England and get his career back on track, while Milan are willing to do business if they receive a fee in the region of the £30million they paid for him. It goes without saying, that Spurs need a striker.

Surely, especially given the comments made by Piatek’s father, a move has got to be orchestrated before the end of the January window – as such a transfer suits all involved.
