‘Fantastic’ Tottenham player picked up another injury over the weekend

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ryan Sessegnon has picked up yet another injury during an Under-21s game over the weekend.

Ryan Sessegnon’s progress at Tottenham has been hampered significantly by persistent hamstring injuries over the past four years.

The Englishman was snapped up for a fee worth around back in the summer of 2019.

Sessegnon is yet to start a game under Ange Postecoglou after returning from a hamstring injury last month.

He got a few minutes under his belt against Burnley in the FA Cup but suffered another setback.

And after being spotted back in training last week, Sessegnon was forced off in an Under-21s game on Saturday.

reports that Sessegnon managed just 33 minutes before being forced off for Tottenham’s U21s side.

It’s noted that the 23-year-old fell to the ground after ‘awkwardly’ after delivering a cross into the box.

Sessegnon was then unable to walk back into the building without help and eventually required crutches to make his way back into the training complex.

You can only sympathise with Sessegnon after what has been a torrid past year due to injuries.

The full-back arrived in north London with plenty of promise after a brilliant spell at Fulham.

Despite some promising signs during his spell as a wing-back under Antonio Conte, injuries have held the talented defender back.

During his four and a half years at Tottenham, Sessegnon has managed just 57 appearances in all competitions for the club.

It’s a real shame to hear that Sessegnon has suffered yet another setback and you get the feeling he could have offered decent back-up for Destiny Udogie this term.

Hopefully, his latest injury doesn’t turn out to be too serious and we see the talented full-back in action for Spurs once again shortly.
