‘Fantastic’: Louis van Gaal wowed by what one Tottenham player has done this week
Tottenham Hotspur ace Steven Bergwijn scored for the Netherlands against Germany on Tuesday night.
Louis van Gaal described the Spurs man’s effort as “fantastic”, as quoted by .
Bergwijn hasn’t had the best of times at Tottenham, it has to be said.

The 24-year-old has failed to establish himself as a regular starter for Spurs under Antonio Conte.
He has started just four Premier League games all season and played just .
However, Bergwijn continues to make an impact for the Netherlands, with four goals from his last three games.
On Tuesday, the man came off the bench in the 58th minute, replacing Donyell Malen.
Bergwijn was in the right place at the right time to rifle a fierce effort into the back of Manuel Neuer’s net.
The Tottenham man’s 68th-minute goal cancelled out Thomas Muller’s opener in first-half injury time.
After the game, Van Gaal said: “I think we’ve had a fantastic week.
“We could have won twice. I don’t think a draw against Germany is that bad. I think the public enjoyed the fight.
“Despite the dominance of the Germans in the first half, 0-0 at half-time would not have been crazy.
“Germany was very strong on the ball, but I think we were good defensively and didn’t give away many chances, despite their dominance.
“In the second half we fought back and thanks to Frenkie de Jong we could play out under pressure from Germany.
“The crowd was also great in the second half.
“We scored a fantastic goal and could have also got a penalty, then we just win this game.”

Tottenham and Bergwijn need to decide what to do – TBR View
Bergwijn is a great player, but it just doesn’t seem to be working out for him at Tottenham.
And with Dejan Kulusevski shining at Spurs, the Dutchman will have slipped further down the pecking order.
It’s just one of those things – Kulusevski, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min is a superb front line.
And at the end of the day, Antonio Conte must do what works best for the team, not individual players.
That said, this summer, the Tottenham board and Bergwijn’s camp will need to decide once and for all how to proceed.
Bergwijn deserves regular game time and, if Conte can’t promise him this, then they should look to sell him.
