‘Fantastic’… Heung-min Son now shares the two Tottenham players who really impressed him vs Luton
Heung-min Son has named the two Tottenham Hotspur players who impressed him in yesterday’s 2-1 win over Luton Town.
The Tottenham skipper provided at a crucial moment once again on Saturday as he netted a late winner against Luton.
Ange Postecoglou’s men have picked up an unwanted habit of starting games slowly at home and fell behind inside three minutes yesterday.
After Tahith Chong’s opener, Spurs searched for a leveller before halftime but Heung-min Son was denied by both posts before Pape Matar Sarr’s effort was cleared off the line.
Postecoglou turned to his bench after heading into the break 1-0 down as he introduced Brennan Johnson for Dejan Kulusevski.
It’s fair to say that the Welshman had the desired impact as he provided a real threat down the right-hand side.
The 22-year-old performance was labelled as ‘excellent’ by Postecoglou after he set up Son for the winner and forced Issa Kabore into scoring an own goal.
But as well as Johnson, Son has also lauded Timo Werner after his display against Luton.

Son impressed with Johnson and Werner
Speaking to after yesterday’s win, Son singled out both Johnson and Werner for praise.
“Today I think the wingers, especially Brennan, did a fantastic job and I want to help the team with my movement so [we] did a good job from the team and created chances,” Son said. “Obviously, if we could score a bit earlier, it would be better.”
Werner had an opportunity to get Spurs back on level terms in the first half after beating Kabore down the left-hand side.
The German international dragged his effort just wide of the post but he did play a crucial role in yesterday’s win.
His delivery into the box in the 86th minute was knocked back by Johnson to Son, with the Spurs skipper netting the winner.
Werner was also waiting at the back post before Kabore turned the ball into his own net following Johnson’s delivery early in the first half.

Werner’s stats for Tottenham
While it remains unclear whether or not Spurs will take up the option to sign Werner permanently this summer, he’s proving to be a useful option for Postecoglou.
The 28-year-old has managed four goal involvements in nine Premier League appearances for Tottenham this term.
As for Johnson, his impressive recent form has led to him having a hand in six goals in his last eight league appearances.
