‘Fantastic’: Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has praise for one Arsenal player after yesterday’s game

Arsenal may have been outplayed yesterday, but Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel did at least have praise for Bernd Leno in the Gunners’ goal, as per .
Leno saves
Chelsea ran out 2-0 winners over Arsenal, but the scoreline could have been more if it wasn’t for the German goalkeeper.
Leno came to the rescue in the second-half, as he stopped Lukaku adding a second to his total.
He somehow managed to claw out a powerful header from Chelsea’s newest recruit, as he tipped the shot onto the crossbar.
Even Lukaku couldn’t believe that the Arsenal man had saved his effort, after seeing it crash off the bar.
And when assessing Lukaku’s performance, Tuchel also had some kind words for Leno.
“He was also dangerous throughout the game because he’s always dangerous on counter-attacks and we brought him into the game very well already,” he said.
“So now it’s about details. There is stuff to improve, but it’s the beginning of the season. He almost scored a second one but which was a fantastic save from Bernd Leno. But it was a very good debut and he linked up very well. Now is the moment to continue and improve.”

Important to impress
Leno may have upped his game due to the pressure that he is now coming under.
Arsenal are set to bring in Aaron Ramsdale, which should increase competition for places.
Leno will be almost impossible to drop after that display, although ESPN have reported that this could be his final season in North London now, with Ramsdale largely expected to become their new number one in time.
