‘Fantastic’ £30m Tottenham player could be allowed to leave on a free transfer this summer
Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly allow a £30 million signing to leave on a free transfer this summer.
Spurs are expected to continue with an overhaul of their squad this summer as Ange Postecoglou continues to build a side in his image.
Tottenham have made positive strides towards that end since the Aussie’s arrival, with the club offloading the likes of Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez over the past year.
But a few players still face uncertain futures at Spurs and Ryan Sessegnon certainly falls into that category.
The 23-year-old has managed just one appearance during Postecoglou’s tenure as he continues to struggle with persistent hamstring injuries.
With his deal set to expire this summer, claims Tottenham have a ‘tough’ decision to make over the full-back’s future.

Sessegnon could leave Tottenham on free transfer
The outlet reports that Sessegnon should be fit and ready for the start of next season.
Yet, the ‘‘ full-back could end up leaving Tottenham on a free transfer this summer. Spurs do have the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.
But should the club opt against the extension, he will be allowed to leave for nothing at the end of the season.
It’s noted that Spurs would be writing off over £30 million if Sessegnon leaves for free, which is the fee they paid Fulham to land the Englishman back in 2019.

Sessegnon’s Tottenham stats
Since making the switch to Spurs almost five years ago, Sessegnon has managed just 57 appearances for the club, netting three times and providing four assists.
That is largely down to recurring issues with his hamstrings, as well as a season-long loan at Hoffenheim during the 2020-21 campaign.
Given Sessegnon’s recent injury record, it’s difficult to see Spurs picking up a decent fee for the defender at this stage.
It just hasn’t worked out for the former Fulham man at Tottenham and it’s a real shame given his potential when he arrived at the club.
