Fans would forgive Levy after nightmare manager pursuit, if he lures £6m-rated star to Tottenham – TBR View

It lasted more than two months, but eventually Daniel Levy got a new manager in the dugout before pre-season started. But the frustration from Tottenham fans has not dissipated yet. Supporters were let down on numerous occasions and Levy needs a way to improve that relationship.

Antonio Conte, Brendan Rodgers, Julian Nagelsmann, Paulo Fonseca, Gennaro Gattuso, Erik Ten Hag, Julen Lopetegeui and so many more were linked to the Spurs job. But all rejected the idea. Eventually Levy went for Nuno Espirito Santo, a manager he could have got some time before.

Levy has always been criticised by sections of the Tottenham support. But with no new signings and plenty that needs to be done this summer, he must start soon. Improving the squad improves his relationship with the fans. Now, he has the chance to make that happen – signing Isco for £6million ().

Isco can make Tottenham fans forgive Levy, a bit

While he has not enjoyed the best of seasons, Isco is still a generational talent that can take apart an opposition’s defence with the flick of a foot. Putting him in an attack that also boasts Harry Kane and Son Heung-min would see the pressure on the duo to create reduce, allowing freedom.

Yes, people will point to his enormous wages or that he is not in his best form. But like it did for Mauricio Pochettino, things have gone stale for Isco at Tottenham. He needs to join a side where he is one of the best players and at Spurs, he would. Not only that, but he offers versatility too.

Either wing, as a 10 or a bit deeper as an eight, he can do it all. So, at £6million, he is a bargain – and one that Levy simply has to consider this summer. Such a move would not only improve Spurs, but it would put a massive plaster over the open wound that the manager hunt as left.
