Fans react to performance of Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard scored twice as France under-21s defeated Switzerland under-21s 2-0 last night, with the Hoops talisman breaking the goalscoring record in the process.

The 22-year-old moved clear of former Celtic star Moussa Dembele, scoring his 14th goals during the Monday night contest.

Edouard has endured a frustrating campaign at Parkhead, scoring just six times and registering two assists from his 13 outings.

Last night’s game highlighted his qualities though with two well-taken goals to ensure victory for Sylvain Ripoll’s team.

Edouard has scored 66 goals in total for Celtic, with 33 assists also coming from his 139 appearances in the famous green and white jersey.

Boss Neil Lennon will hope Edouard can use his form on the international stage to propel himself back into Celtic form.

Boy, do they need him firing.

Celtic are nine points adrift of Rangers in the race for their tenth Scottish Premiership title in succession.

The Hoops do have two games in hand but Steven Gerrard’s men have been rampant of late.

Following last night’s two-goal haul for Edouard, some fans were quick to rave about the Celtic star.

They took to Twitter to discuss his quality and congratulate him on toppling Dembele at the top of the scoring charts.

Here is what supporters were saying about the Celtic striker.
