Fans react to Liverpool youngster Neco Williams’s display for Wales

A number of fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Neco Williams’s performance as the Liverpool youngster proved to be a real shining light in Wales’s Nations League clash with Republic of Ireland on Sunday.

Robert Page’s men kept themselves top of their group with a narrow win in Cardiff. It was David Brooks who got the decisive goal from a Gareth Bale assist.

But it seemed to be Williams who received a lot of plaudits on social media during and after the game.

Many felt that the Liverpool starlet was actually the most exciting player on the pitch.

Defensively, he was excellent. , no player made more interceptions than the 19-year-old.

But he also proved to be a threat at the other end of the pitch. He produced some brilliant runs forward – particularly during the second-half. And he linked up nicely with some of Wales’s attacking players as he broke forward.

Williams is yet to make a Premier League appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season. However, with the champions having to deal with so many injuries at the moment, some feel that he has to be in contention to soon end that wait.

Plenty took to social media to laud Williams’s display in the win. It is certainly an exciting sign that he stood out in a team that also boasted players such as Bale and Brooks.
