Fans react to Leeds loanee Alfie McCalmont’s latest wonder goal
A number of Leeds United and Oldham fans have taken to Twitter to laud Alfie McCalmont after the midfielder scored another stunning goal for the Latics on Tuesday.
McCalmont has been outstanding over the last few months. And his form has been rewarded with a handful of outrageous goals for the League Two side.

And he was at it once again against Harrogate. McCalmont put the visitors ahead in their 3-0 win with a volley from the edge of the box that went in off the underside of the bar.
The 21-year-old has now scored eight goals in the league for Oldham. And his latest strike prompted a number of fans to take to social media to laud the Northern Irishman.

A couple of Oldham fans clearly feel disappointed that he is unlikely to be around their club much longer. They certainly see him thriving at a much higher level.
The Leeds supporters meanwhile, are hoping that he is on his way to realising his full potential. It is not going to be easy to break into Marcelo Bielsa’s plans. But he certainly looks to be back on the right path.
No Premier League side has scored more goals this season from outside the box than Leeds (via ). So McCalmont is seemingly showing why he would fit in back in the fold at Elland Road.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Leeds and Oldham fans reacted to McCalmont’s latest strike…
He’s going to be some player, it’s just as shame we won’t get to see him play live

Has he scored a normal goal yet? What a player

Always saw him as a potential KP backup, but maybe turning into more of a Klich/Dallas alternative? Championship loan next perhaps.
