Fans react as Tottenham have ‘growing belief’ of new contracts for Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen
, Jose Mourinho is working hard to resolve uncertain futures at Tottenham Hotspur.
This includes defensive duo Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen. Both players are out of contract in summer 2020 and, inevitably, they have been linked with exits in January.
But Mourinho is keen to keep both players at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Now, there is a “growing belief” that Spurs can keep one or two of their out-of-contract stars.

Alderweireld is said to be happy with Mourinho’s appointment. The Belgian defender believes Mourinho can deliver success at Spurs and he is settled in London with his second child expected soon.
Moreover, Mourinho tried to sign Alderweireld while he was at Manchester United. He repeatedly failed with his attempts to bring in the 30-year-old but now he gets the chance to work with him.
Alderweireld’s team-mate Vertonghen is keen to get back in the team after his injury. If he impresses Mourinho and sees the ambition under the new manager, he could earn an extension.

Hoping for sake, it’s and and their telepathic partnership at the back! They will be keeping forwards in their pocket since they can’t play anymore..
