BBC pundit says Arne Slot did something really impressive during Liverpool’s win at Ipswich Town
Liverpool cruised to an opening day victory as they saw off newly promoted Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
Despite a brave first half from the home side, Liverpool stepped it up in the second 45 and goals from Diogo Jota and Mo Salah were enough to see Arne Slot take three points in his opening game in charge.
🔴For Liverpool, it was vital they got off to a winning start after making no signings this summer.
ꦓAll eyes were on team selection and Slot did pull a few surprises, as young defender Jarrell Quansah was handed a start alongside Virgil van Dijk.
However, Quansah was also taken off at half-time in place of Ibou Konate.
🧜And watching on for the BBC, Mark Warburton praised Arne Slot for having the bravery to make a big call.
Arne Slot praised for taking Jarrell Quansah off against Ipswich
🐟Quansah had indeed had a bit of a tough time against the power of Ipswich forward Liam Delap.
🌼Slot, then, decided to make the change at the break and Konate came on and did well.

🔯And commenting on the decision for Sport, former QPR boss Warburton said Slot deserved huge credit for making the call.
💞“I didn’t see any sign of injury at all with Jarell Quansah,” Warburton said.
▨“Liam Delap was giving him a bit of a tough time at the end of the first half so Arne Slot has made a bit of a tactical change there. And fair play to him.”

🐭It wasn’t perfect and there were times when Ipswich threatened in that first half.
♛But on the whole, this was a good start to the Arne Slot era in Liverpool.
🅰The second 45 should have yielded more goals and big misses from the likes of Jota, Diaz and Salah ensured the score-line stayed low.
✅For Slot, there’s a lot of positives to work with and at the end of the day, making big calls and coming away with three points is a more than impressive start.
