Fabrizio Romano shares whether Tottenham can sign Timo Werner on a permanent deal
Tottenham are reportedly close to landing former Chelsea striker Timo Werner on loan until the end of the season.
Reports this morning have claimed Werner is on his way to Spurs in a six-month loan deal.
Despite his failure at Chelsea, Ange Postecoglou has moved quickly to try and sign Werner in the hope he gives his Spurs side a boost in attack.

And while it will be an initial loan deal to bring Werner to North London, Fabrizio Romano has now shared some news on the chances of it being a permanent transfer.
Taking to over on social media just now, Romano has confirmed that negotiations are ongoing and the deal could well include an option for Tottenham to buy Werner.
Tottenham shouldn’t commit to permanent Werner deal
While some will see this as a bit of a no lose signing for Spurs, they definitely shouldn’t be committing to signing him on a permanent deal no matter what.
Sure, put the option in there for if he does well and helps the team. But to commit to signing him when he’s been so poor in the Premier League before would be risky.
Postecoglou clearly sees something in Werner and his pace will be a useful asset to Tottenham, especially with Heung-Min Son away for a bit.
However, his goals record in recent seasons has been pretty dire and that’s what he’ll be judged on in the main you’d think.
Spurs fans will be desperately hoping this is one of Ange’s punts that comes off. If it does, then Werner could actually make a big difference in the Spurs attack.
If he flops, then as long as no permanent deal is agreed, it will just be consigned as a loan punt gone wrong.
