Fabrizio Romano shares what he’s now heard about Sergio Reguilon’s Tottenham future

The transfer window in England has been closed for a couple of weeks now, but there are still some deals to be done.

Indeed, the Greek and Turkish transfer windows are still open, and there are some escape routes available to players who need moves.

David Datro Fofana is likely to join AEK Athens in the coming days, and he’s not the only Premier League player who has been linked with a move to either Turkey or Greece.

Ben Chilwell is also out of favour at Chelsea, while Sergio Reguilon was said to have no future at Tottenham towards the end of the transfer window.

Speaking on , Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Reguilon’s situation, and he says that, as things stand, the Spaniard isn’t desperate to leave Tottenham and he’s happy to fight for his place unless a good opportunity comes up.

Sergio Reguilon isn’t desperate to leave Tottenham

Romano shared what he knows about Reguilon.

“Yeah there are some players still looking for moves. Ben Chilwell and Sergio Reguilon as you mentioned, nothing is really close or concrete with these two. In the case with Reguilon I am told that he’s not desperate for a move,” Romano said.

“Either there is a good opportunity or he will be there fighting for a place at Tottenham. Chilwell is completely different because Chilwell is out of the project at Chelsea,” Romano said.

Reguilon could be useful for Tottenham

Sergio Reguilon is ready to fight for his place at Tottenham, and, in all honesty, he could be useful for Spurs.

The Spaniard may not have been at his best for Tottenham in recent years, but he’s still a decent depth option.

Let’s not forget, this is a player who has been on the books at Real Madrid and Manchester United in recent years.

Spurs aren’t necessarily blessed with the most depth at left-back right now, so it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if Reguilon stayed at Tottenham for the next few months.
