Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo has suddenly been linked with a move to Chelsea.
The 19-year-old is one of the most talented midfielders of his age in the world. He was one꧒ of United’s best players in the 2023/24 season and shined for England as well.

Mainoo established himself as a key player for Manchester ♑United in the 2023/24 season, which is why United want to reward him with a new contract. However, there hasn’t been an agreement yet despite talk🉐s over the last year, and that has led to links with Chelsea.
Fabrizio Romano has had his say on the situation, and Manchester United fans will be happy to hear that there is nothing going on between Ch🎃elsea and Mainoo at the moment.
He has claimed that the Blues do like him, just like every other top club, but there has been no talk of a ꦚtransfer between the parties.
He said on his : “What I can tell you, many of your messages are about this Chelsea story, I think it’s absolutely normal fo💖r all top clubs in the world – Chelsea for sure – but also many others to appreciate a player like Kobbie Mainoo.
“How can you not love a talent like Kobbie Mainoo? A guy who was in the academyಌ one year ago, then a fantastic rise with Man United, Euros – don’t forget what this boy did for the English national team as a kid. So, it’s absolutely normal to fall in love with Kobbie Mainoo, especially if you’re an English club.
“But, that’s it at the moment. My headline is not ‘Chelsea like Kobbie Mainoo’ because that’s absolutel🌳y obvious and normal.
“But, the point here for Manchester United is that there are no negotiations with any oth🥃er club, no bid on the table, the situation is completely quiet. The player is under contract till ♈2027 plus an option until 2028. So it’s not a desperate situation for Manchester United. “
Why Mainoo has not agreed to a new Manchester United contract yet
Romano is right, there is no need for Manchester United to🍌 pꦐanic yet.
Mainoo’🐽s current deal doe꧑s not effectively expire until 2028. That puts the Red Devils in a strong negotiating position even if clubs make a move for him.
For those wondering why the teenager is yet to sign a new deal, Romano has claimed that it is because of all the changes at United over the last year – from ownership to the board 𝔉to the manager.
The journalist has revealed that when these many changes happen, it often affects the rhythm of negotiations between the club and the playe꧟r.
That, however, is not a cause for concern just yet. Romano has confirmed that Mainoo and United are locked i❀n talks and negotiations will continue over a new deal.
