Fabrizio Romano shares Stefan Bajcetic update as Liverpool and Barcelona talks continue

Liverpool are set for a busy end to the summer transfer window, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

The Reds have made one new signing so far, securing the signature of Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

In addition, Liverpool are said to be closing in on a move for Federico Chiesa, who is set for a medical with the Reds.

Now, speculation has begun doing the rounds regarding a Liverpool talent who is surprisingly being sought after by Barcelona.

Fabrizio Romano has now shared the latest on the Stefan Bajcetic state of play.

Fabrizio Romano says talks ongoing over Stefan Bajcetic

Earlier on Wednesday, Romano revealed that Barca had submitted a loan bid to Liverpool for Bajcetic.

Now, the transfer insider has provided an update, saying talks are ongoing between the two clubs and that RB Salzburg are still in the background.

Romano reiterated that there is no buy option in Barca’s proposal to Liverpool, and that it would be a straight loan for around £3.4million.

‘Unbelievable’ Liverpool talent set for unbelievable loan move

Bajcetic is an “unbelievable” talent who enjoyed a rise to prominence for Liverpool last season, making 26 Reds appearances in all competitions.

However, he was sadly on the sidelines for most of last season due to a calf injury. Back in April, Jurgen Klopp said Bajcetic’s return to the fold was “super-important”.

Meanwhile, Barca need cover after Marc Bernal suffered an ACL injury, and it looks as though they’ve set their sights on the Liverpool ace.

It looks as though talks are going in the right direction and perhaps a breakthrough will come sooner rather than later.
