Fabrizio Romano shares key update on West Ham star Mohammed Kudus
West Ham United have been busy on the transfer front over the past few weeks as Julen Lopetegui looks to bolster his new club’s ranks.
So far, the Hammers have brought Luis Guilherme to the London Stadium from Palmeiras, and have also signed veteran goalkeeper Wes Foderingham on a free transfer.
West Ham are also likely to see some outgoings as well as more incomings, though there are certain players that the Hammers will not want to lose.
Mohammed Kudus is one such player. The Ghana international has been a revelation since joining West Ham last summer.
In recent days, there have been reports doing the rounds claiming that Kudus had an £85million release clause, which could’ve seen him targeted by other clubs.
However, Fabrizio Romano has now relayed a report which will allay West Ham fans’ fears.

Mohammed Kudus release clause no longer active this summer
Romano took to X to relay news of Kudus’ release clause being no longer valid this summer.
The transfer insider says the clause expired on 30 June, which means West Ham have the power to reject any offers for the 23-year-old.
Indeed, Romano claimed that West Ham are optimistic of keeping Kudus at the club past the closing of the transfer window.
West Ham will look to kick on with Kudus
Kudus has been a key player for West Ham since his move last year and, at just 23 years of age, he’s still in the early stages of his career and has a high ceiling.
Losing Kudus to another club this summer would’ve been a huge blow with regards to the Hammers’ hopes of returning to the European picture over the course of next season.
However, West Ham no longer have to automatically accept any bids for Kudus, which means their hand is once again strong in negotiations.
With Julen Lopetegui now in charge, the Hammers will want to give him all the tools needed for him to hit the ground running.
Having Kudus in their ranks will go a long way to ensuring this happens.
