Fabrizio Romano shares exciting Arsenal transfer update in wake of Champions League win over Real Madrid
Arsenal are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta and new sporting director Andrea Berta look to bring in reinforcements.
The Gunners have once again been in the Premier League title picture and, more importantly this season, they have reached the Champions League semi-finals.
Arsenal delivered two heroic performances to thrash Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on what Arsenal’s hierarchy has in store this summer in wake of the games against Real Madrid.

Fabrizio Romano says Mikel Arteta will have ‘a lot of power’ in transfer market as numerous players firmly in Arsenal sights
Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, began by praising Arsenal for their efforts so far this season, despite having had to deal with so many injuries.
He said Arsenal are doing “something special” and also praised Arteta for having conveyed a message of unity and solution-finding.
Romano then went on to say that Arteta will be backed handsomely in the transfer market and will have “a lot of power” as he and Berta look to bolster Arsenal’s ranks.
“What I can tell you today is that Arteta will be backed in the market,” began Romano.
“Arteta will have a lot of power in the market – together with Andrea they will plan for the strategy.
“(Martin) Zubimendi is a top target, the new striker will arrive, Arsenal will do also more on the market.
“So Arsenal are working hard on Zubimendi, on the striker, on the winger probably, and more.
“So Arsenal will be busy in the market and Arteta will be backed – but he really deserved that.”
Who Arsenal have been linked with in recent months
Arsenal have been linked with a multitude of players in recent months – strikers, midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers are all on the Gunners’ radar.
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently confirmed that Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen, Jonathan David and Hugo Ekitike have impressed Arsenal scouts.
Zubimendi is an Arsenal target in midfield, while Lyon’s Rayan Cherki is also of interest to Arsenal.
In terms of back-line players, Arsenal are keen on Brentford defender Nathan Collins.
Arsenal also have a long-term interest in Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, a player they’ve already been in talks to sign.
