Fabrizio Romano shares transfer fee and contract length, as Villa confirm Emi Buendia deal
that they have struck an agreement with Norwich City for the signing of Emi Buendia. The short statement says that Buendia and Villa have agreed a deal, but that a medical will take place later this week. Fabrizio Romano has shared some more insight in regards to the deal with Buendia and Villa.
Buendia, 24, has been sensational for Norwich in what was his third season during 2020-21. Clocking up 39 Championship appearances as Daniel Farke delivered the Canaries back into the Premier League, Buendia had a hand in 32 goals. His creativity in the final third also attracted Arsenal.
Italian journalist Romano states that Buendia was a target for the Gunners, but that Arsenal are now looking elsewhere. It is believed that the signing of Buendia will cost Β£29.25million, along with add-ons as the final figure. It is also reported by Romano that Buendia has signed a contract until 2026 at Villa.
Is more than Β£30million a risk, as Villa complete Buendia deal?
Villa have Bertrand Traore on the right β a player that came in to his own during the latter stages β and Jack Grealish on the left. They have Ollie Watkins up top. But they lack a number 10 that can form the ideal front four in a 4-2-3-1 system. Buendia would surely be perfect.
However, it is an expensive fee β especially for a player that only scored one goal in 36 Premier League appearances during his only season in the top tier. But letβs get it right, he is a top player, with enormous flair. Most Premier League clubs would love to have Buendia β a top signing.
