Fabrizio Romano shares big Youssouf Fofana transfer update amid Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham and Manchester United links
Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Manchester United are just a few of the clubs that have reportedly been in pursuit of Youssouf Fofana this summer.
The Gunners, the Lilywhites, the Hammers and the Red Devils have all been linked with potential midfield reinforcements over the past few months.
And Fofana has been highly sought after thanks to his heroics with Monaco, which saw him make France’s Euro 2024 squad this summer.
Back in May, French outlet claimed that Arsenal had been in talks with Monaco about signing the 25-year-old midfielder this summer.
Then, towards the end of June, claimed that Tottenham had become the leading candidates to sign Fofana.
And more recently, West Ham were said to have submitted a bid for Fofana, while Manchester United had become a ‘serious threat’ in the race for the Frenchman.

‘Here we go’ on Youssouf Fofana to AC Milan
However, barring a major late twist, it looks like none of Fofana’s Premier League suitors will be getting their hands on him for the time being.
Fofana has been heavily linked with AC Milan of late, and now Fabrizio Romano has declared “here we go” on the Frenchman moving to the San Siro.
The transfer insider, taking to X, says Monaco have now green-lit Milan’s payment terms for a financial package worth €25million (£21.3million) including add-ons.
Fofana has wanted Milan since July, and now he will travel to the north Italian city for a medical in the next 24 hours ahead of penning an initial four-year deal.
No deal hijack this time
Just last week, an English club got the better of a Serie A giant in the race for a French player whose heart looked set on a switch to Italy.
Jean-Clair Todibo was eager to swap Nice for Juventus, but West Ham swooped in and hijacked the move, bringing him to the London Stadium instead.
However, no Premier League club looks set to do the same in this case. Barring a dramatic late twist in the deal, everything points to the Bleus ace being with Milan next term.
Sadly, the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham and Man United look set to miss out.
