Fabrizio Romano says two Arsenal players ‘in talks’ with suitors, hopefully sold ‘in the next days’

Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Sokratis Papastathopoulos are both in talks with interested suitors and could be leaving the Emirates Stadium in the next few days, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Ozil has been frozen out at Arsenal for over six months now, and has not played a single minute of competitive football following the resumption of English football last June.

Fenerbahce have been heavily linked with the 32-year-old this month, with coach Erol Bulut telling Bein Sports – via – that the “situation will become clear in the coming days”.

Likewise, Sokratis is surplus to Mikel Arteta’s requirements – – and his contract also expires at the end of the season.

According to , Serie A strugglers Genoa have offered him a two-and-a-half-year contract as well as the captain’s armband, and they’re awaiting his response.

Romano provided an update on both players on Thursday night:

TBR View:

It’s not much of a surprise that Ozil and Sokratis are seemingly on the verge of leaving Arsenal, given they’ve been surplus to Arteta’s requirements and are out of contract at the end of the season.

In particular, it’s a shame that Ozil’s time at the Emirates is coming to such an anticlimactic end, but with the saga looking like it’ll be over soon, all parties will be able to move on.
