Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham are still scouting ‘electric’ forward who’s refusing to sign new contract
Tottenham Hotspur target Roony Bardghji is refusing to sign a new contract with FC Copenhagen.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has explained why the Swedish starlet is yet to play a single minute for Copenhagen in 2024.
Spurs were linked with a move for Roony Bardghji in January after missing out on Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa.
Despite Tottenham still holding an interest in Nusa, Romano claims that Spurs are one of many top sides who are currently monitoring Bardghji’s situation in Denmark.

Tottenham still keen on Bardghji
Speaking in his latest video, Romano provided an update on Bardghji’s future and claimed the youngster is refusing to sign a new contract with Copenhagen.
Spurs, Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all closely following the 18-year-old’s situation.
”He’s not playing anymore for Copenhagen with zero minutes,” Romano said. “Many people are asking why because we know there are many top, important clubs following this boy.
“According to my information, the reason for this is only one, the player has no intention of signing a new deal at Copenhagen. This is the situation as of now.
“His current contract expires in December 2025. So, it means that if nothing changes in the summer, Roony Bardghji will be available with 18 months left on his contract but obviously with a different kind of value.
“It would be a really interesting situation for many clubs around Europe. From what I’m hearing, for example, clubs like Tottenham, for sure, but also Manchester United, Barcelona scouts and Bayern Munich have been in attendance multiple times in 2023 to follow the progress of the Swedish talent Roony Bardghji.”
He added: “So, it could be a very interesting situation in terms of contract. But still strange to see that this boy, one of the best talents around, is not playing for Copenhagen and obviously it looks like it’s because of this contract situation.
“So, follow this one because many clubs are keeping a close eye on Bardghji even if he’s not playing.”

Ange Postecoglou looks set to target a new forward player in the summer, despite Timo Werner’s recent arrival.
Bardghji certainly fits the profile of a Tottenham signing as the north Londoners have targeted up-and-coming stars in recent years.
The youngster has also already suggested he could sign for Spurs when asked about their interest.
But Tottenham will clearly face stern competition for his signature, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs tracking his progress.
With that being said, Spurs beat Barcelona to signing his compatriot Lucas Bergvall last month. The prospect of linking up with fellow Swedes Dejan Kulusevski and Bergvall may just appeal to the ‘’ forward should he leave Copenhagen this summer.
