Fabrizio Romano says ‘special’ player will have his medical ‘today’ before sealing Arsenal exit

Bernd Leno is having his medical with Fulham today (Tuesday) ahead of the completion of his move from Arsenal.

Aaron Ramsdale took Leno’s number one spot at the Emirates Stadium last season, and from then on, the writing has been on the wall for his Gunners career.

It has taken a little while for the German’s exit to be agreed, but it is now very close to happening on the eve of the Premier League season.

Fulham open their top flight campaign against Liverpool this weekend and it seems Leno will be between the sticks for that one.

Leno undergoing Fulham medical

Fabrizio Romano says that Leno’s Arsenal exit is all set to be confirmed after he passes his medical at Craven Cottage.

Arsenal are getting rid of a player who will not be playing regularly this season, shifting him off their wage bill and they have already replaced him.

Matt Turner has arrived as their number two goalkeeper and may get handed the cup action for Mikel Arteta’s men this season.

Last season,  ‘special’, and Fulham are getting themselves and established Premier League goalkeeper.

They will hope that bolsters their chances of survival, having won the Championship last season but being a bit slow off the mark with their summer business.

Leno will also not have to relocate and it looks like the deal is going to be all done and dusted sooner rather than later.
