Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool closing in on deal for ‘outstanding’ target
With just 10 days left of the summer transfer window, Liverpool are running out of time to get new signings on board.
The Reds remain the only Premier League club yet to make a signing this summer, which has led to concern among some fan๊s.
Liverpool were in pursuit of Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi earlier this month, but he opted to stay put at❀ the Liga club.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on an “outstanding” player ♑the Rℱeds are reportedly in talks over.

Liverpool closing in on Georgi Mamardashvili breakthrough
The player in question is Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili, who has been heavily linked with Liverpool ov๊er the past few weeks.
Mamardashvili is expected to be on🤪e for the future. He is set to remain on loan for the season and then arrive at Anfield in 2025.
Prior reports suggested the Georgia international was set to join Bournemouth on 🌸loan, but now this may no longer be the case.
According to Romano, who relayed a report from G𒁃eoteam, Mamardashvili now looks set to stay on loan at Valencia for the season.
The transfer insider also clai🍷med that talks over Mamardashvili’s move to L🎀iverpool in 2025 is “now getting close, advancing to final stages”.
Liverpool are currently in talks with the Liga side regarding the structure of the add-ons in a deal worth €30million💖 (£25.5million) overall, added Romano.
Liverpool fans will be hoping for outfield reinforcements this summer too
Mamardashvili is a quality player 💖who Ange Postecoglou described as “outstanding” during (26 June) at Euro 2024.
At just 23 years of age, he’s not only superb already, but he’s got his whole career ahead of him and is nowhere near his prime as🦋 a♍ goalkeeper.
However, with Liverpool having failed to make a single signing this summer, questions are beཧing asked about the club’s priorities in the market.
Liver🐠pool have a strong squad as it is, but additions are desperately needed in certain areas, like defensive midfield and centre-back, and those should be prioritised.
Hopefully the Reds wi🍌ll be able to pull it out of the hat in the next 10 days, but it’s somewhat worrying to see this deal as the only one that’s active and concrete at present.
