Leeds United‘s luck with strikers in this transfer window isn’t getting any better as it looks like they’ve missed out on signing Arnaud Kalimuendo, who is set to join Rennes.

Jesse Marsch’s side have been trying to bring in a new striker since the start of the summer transfer window. Charles De Ketelaere seemed like their priority target, but he decided to pick a different club. It looks like Kalimuendo has done the same now.

Leeds have been linked with a move for Kalimuendo for weeks now.

Multiple reports have claimed that the Whites tabled a bid for the Paris Saint-Germain youngster, and it was even reported that a deal was possible.

However, similar to what happened with De Ketelaere, it looks like Kalimuendo has decided against a move to Elland Road, and he’s on his way to join another club now.

that a deal between Rennes and PSG for Kalimuendo is now done. The young striker will undergo a medical today ahead of a £21 million move to Roazhon Park this week.

Big blow for Leeds!

This is yet another blow for Leeds in their pursuit of a new striker.

Missing out on De Ketelaere was bad enough for the Elland Road club, but with Kalimuendo seemingly no longer an option as well, the Whites have to think of someone else now.

The young French striker would’ve been a very good signing for Leeds. He spent each of the last two seasons out on loan at Lens, where he scored 21 goals and provided six assists in 65 appearances. That’s not bad at all for someone who was mostly a teenager during that period.

Missing out on De Ketelaere was a blow for Leeds, but not being able to sign Kalimuendo may just hurt the Whites a tad bit more if he goes on to fulfil his massive potential in the coming years.
