Fabrizio Romano says ‘fantastic’ Arsenal player has agreed personal terms with Premier League rival

Arsenal are likely to be busy on the transfer front in the coming days as Mikel Arteta and Edu look to add the finishing touches to their squad.

The Gunners have made one senior signing so far this summer, bringing Italy star Riccardo Calafiori to the Emirates Stadium from Bologna.

However, if all goes well, it shouldn’t be long before Arsenal will get their second senior summer signing over the line.

The Gunners are reportedly closing in on the signing of Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad and it shouldn’t be long before a breakthrough is made.

Arsenal are also looking to move some more players on and, according to Fabrizio Romano, there has been a significant development on this front.

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah agrees personal terms with Nottingham Forest

In recent days, Arsenal have been in talks with Nottingham Forest over a move for Hale End graduate Eddie Nketiah.

Romano has now reported that the Gunners striker has “just agreed on personal terms” with the Reds.

Talks between Arsenal and Forest are now advancing to the final stages and the latter club is “confident to get it done soon”.

Nketiah set to remain in the Premier League

Nketiah, who Arsene Wenger has previously praised for his “fantastic” first touch, is now edging closer to a move away from Arsenal.

It’s a shame to see a player set to depart from the club where he came through the ranks, but it’ll be the best thing for him in terms of his career.

Nketiah has never quite managed to become a regular starter for the Gunners, and it doesn’t look as though this will be the case going forward.

Besides, if these reports are true, then he won’t even be leaving the Premier League, and will be joining a solid top-flight club with a lot of history and a passionate fanbase.

England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale could also leave Arsenal over the next week or so, with reports claiming Premier League duo Wolves and Bournemouth are after him.
