Fabrizio Romano says ‘extraordinary’ £34m Arsenal player is set to be sold

Arsenal are finally up and running in the summer transfer window, with their first senior signing over the line.

Earlier this week, the Gunners signed Italy international defender Riccardo Calafiori for a deal reportedly worth £42million.

Arsenal also signed Tommy Setford earlier this month, but the England youth international will be in the Hale End setup initially.

The Gunners have also been busy in terms of outgoings, with Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga having left on initial loans.

Now, it looks as though another Arsenal first-team player could be departing the Emirates Stadium.

Emile Smith Rowe on verge of Arsenal exit

The player in question is Emile Smith Rowe, who is reportedly on the verge of joining fellow London outfit Fulham.

Fabrizio Romano has taken to X to say Fulham, Arsenal and Smith Rowe are reviewing and signing all the necessary paperwork for a move.

The Gunners will be selling the Hale End graduate for an initial £27million fee plus £7million in potential add-ons.

Arsenal academy graduate Smith Rowe set to kickstart career at Fulham

When Smith Rowe made his breakthrough at Arsenal, a fair few were confident he’d be the next Hale End graduate after Bukayo Saka to become a star for club and country.

However, the 23-year-old has sadly struggled with injuries in recent years, which have seriously hampered his progress and restricted his game time at Arsenal.

That said, Smith Rowe is an “extraordinary” player – as Mikel Arteta once said – and it’ll be good to see him get his career back on track.

It’s not surprising to see him remain in the Premier League, as he has proven himself at that level for one of the nation’s best teams.
