Fabrizio Romano says Everton closing in on ‘outstanding’ signing

Everton have been fairly busy in the summer transfer window, with two new signings on board.

The Toffees have strengthened their ranks by recruiting Iliman Ndiaye and Tim Iroegbunam, though they have also sold three players including Amadou Onana.

Now, it looks as though a third signing could be on the way, with Fabrizio Romano announcing “here we go, soon” on a player who has been in talks with Everton.

Everton closing in on Jesper Lindstrom deal

Romano, taking to X, said Everton are closing in on the signing of Jesper Lindstrom from Napoli.

The transfer insider says the Toffees are on the verge of agreeing an initial loan deal worth €3million (£2.5million), along with a €22million (£18.5million) option to buy.

Final details are being sorted between all the relevant parties, and it shouldn’t be long before agreement is struck and the “here we go” arrives, added Romano.

What Jesper Lindstrom could bring to Everton

Lindstrom is an attacking midfielder who can also play on both wings and has considerable experience at the highest level.

The 24-year-old is currently playing for Serie A side Napoli, and also represents Denmark internationally, with 16 caps under his belt.

Lindstrom got his big break in 2021 when he joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Brondby, going on to join Napoli two years later.

Although things haven’t worked out for Lindstrom at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, a fresh start could now be on the cards for Lindstrom.

Should Sean Dyche get the best out of him, he can surely return to the levels he reached at Frankfurt, with 28 goal contributions from 80 outings.

Lindstrom has described his game as follows, as per the : “In general I like to play up front but can also play on the wings.

“I’ve got a strong shot on me from distance and I like to link up play in the penalty area.”

Former Frankfurt colleague Kevin Trapp said of Lindstrom: “He’s an outstanding footballer and has very good technique.”
