Fabrizio Romano says Crystal Palace now set to sign player who’s ‘got it all’

Crystal Palace have been relatively busy on the transfer front this summer, making two new signings to date.

The Eagles have snapped up Japan forward Daichi Kamada on a free transfer and also landed Morocco defender Chadi Riad from Real Betis.

However, Palace have also had to deal with losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, while Scott Banks has also left for St Pauli.

Speculation also persists over the future of Eberechi Eze, who has been linked with the likes of Tottenham this summer.

That said, Fabrizio Romano has now provided some good news for Palace fans, declaring “here we go” on an incoming deal.

‘Here we go’ on Ismaila Sarr to Crystal Palace

On Thursday afternoon, Romano claimed on X that Palace were set to complete a deal worth in the region of €16million (£13.5million) for Ismaila Sarr.

Just 10 minutes later, the transfer insider said Palace had received the green light from Marseille president Pablo Longoria for the final proposal.

Romano then said Sarr would be travelling to London to undergo his medical ahead of signing a five-year deal, with personal terms agreed days ago.

“Here we go,” concluded the Italian.

Palace set to make ‘really good’ signing

Palace may have had a mixed summer in terms of transfer activity, but there’s no doubt that Sarr is a solid signing for them.

The 26-year-old is incredibly talented, in his prime, and proven at Premier League level, having played for Watford in the top flight in 2019/20 and 2021/22.

A few years ago, Sadio Mane revealed what he told former Liverpool teammate Andrew Robertson about his compatriot.

“He’s rapid. I think defenders will struggle,” Mane told .

“Last time I was speaking to Robbo, I said, ‘Watford have a really good player.

“I will need to help you more otherwise Ismaila Sarr will kill you, because he is a good dribbler and very, very fast.”

Meanwhile, Ben Foster said of Sarr in 2022: “He would fit into one of the big boys.

“If his head is on it and he’s fully fit and flying and not worrying about any hamstring injuries, he is top notch. I mean top notch.

“He is double rapid and his balls into the box, his delivery, he can finish, he’s got it all. Honestly.”
