Fabrizio Romano says ‘big’ player set for West Ham medical on Saturday

West Ham United have been busy on the transfer front this summer and there could soon be a spate of new arrivals at the London Stadium.

The Hammers made three signings in June and July, bringing in Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman.

Over the past few days, speculation has intensified regarding more targets for West Ham, and now it looks like these deals are close to fruition.

For instance, Crysencio Summerville is believed to have completed his medical ahead of joining West Ham from Leeds United.

And on Friday, Fabrizio Romano claimed the Hammers have booked a medical for Guido Rodriguez after agreeing terms with the free agent.

Rodriguez won’t be the only player set to have a medical at West Ham this weekend, according to the transfer insider.

Niclas Fullkrug set for West Ham medical

Romano has taken to X to declare “here we go” on Niclas Fullkrug to West Ham for a fee reportedly worth around £27.2million.

The Italian also revealed that the Borussia Dortmund striker’s medical is set to take on place on Saturday.

West Ham director Tim Steidten closed the deals for Fullkrug and Rodriguez on Friday, added Romano.

Steidten deserves credit for his impressive work at West Ham this summer so far.

The Hammers have already made three signings, and soon they could double that tally with three – if not four – more additions.

The Summerville deal is all-but done, and surely it’s just a matter of an announcement now. Meanwhile, Fullkrug and Rodriguez are at the medical stage.

Fullkrug’s arrival will alleviate West Ham’s need for attacking reinforcements. The “big man” will provide a proven goal threat for the claret-and-blue side.

Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also rumoured to have agreed terms with West Ham, though talks with the Red Devils are thought to be ongoing.

The Hammers certainly seem eager to give new manager Julen Lopetegui all the tools he needs to hit the ground running at the London Stadium.
