Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal will sign £50k-a-week player if they can’t get Joan Garcia
Arsenal are in the market for a new goalkeeper at the end of this transfer window.
Aaron Ramsdale is set to join Southampton, and the Gunners need to get a replacement through the door.
A number of goalkeepers have been linked to Arsenal this summer.
Dan Bentley is someone Arsenal were keen on, but Joan Garcia has been Arsenal’s main target.
However, Arsenal are running into some complications with the Garcia deal, and now, they could be bringing a different player in.

Arsenal will sign Neto if they can’t get Joan Garcia
Arsenal have been linked with Bournemouth’s Neto over the past few hours.
This deal appears to be picking up pace, and according to Fabrizio Romano, a loan deal has now been verbally agreed.
Neto will join Arsenal on loan with no obligation to buy, and Arsenal will play the Brazilian’s full salary – which is said to be .
This deal is agreed, but it isn’t fully done as of yet.
Indeed, according to Romano, Arsenal will only proceed with this deal if their move for Garcia completely collapsed.
Neto a better option than Garcia
There’s an argument to make that Neto is a better option than Joan Garcia.
Not only is Neto much cheaper, he’s much more experienced, especially in a backup role.
The role of a backup goalkeeper is very unique, and Neto has plenty of experience in playing this role without kicking up much fuss.
Neto has previously been the backup at both Juventus and Barcelona, and he could be just what the doctor ordered as Arsenal look for a David Raya deputy.
Of course, at the age of 35, Neto isn’t exactly a long-term solution for Arsenal, but as a stopgap for this season, he’s not a bad option.
Who knows? Perhaps if Arsenal save £25m on not signing Garcia, those funds can be used elsewhere to make a more exciting signing.
