Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal want to sell another ‘incredible’ player as two Premier League clubs circle

Arsenal are set for a busy end to the summer transfer window in order to make the finishing touches to their squad before deadline day.

In terms of incomings, the Gunners are reportedly closing in on a deal to bring Mikel Merino to the Emirates Stadium from Real Sociedad.

Arsenal have also been busy on the outgoings front. The Gunners have already let several first-teamers leave this summer, and several more could soon follow.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on an “incredible” Arsenal player that the Gunners are seemingly willing to sell.

Aaron Ramsdale expected to leave Arsenal

The player in question is Aaron Ramsdale, who has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium for months now.

Ramsdale was previously Arsenal’s number one goalkeeper and even signed a new contract last year.

However, Mikel Arteta opted to bring in David Raya and give him the first-team gloves, leaving Ramsdale to warm the bench for most of the season.

Romano, writing on , says Arsenal want a permanent sale for Ramsdale and are rejecting loan offers.

Two Premier League clubs are currently circling, namely Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bournemouth, added the transfer insider.

Neither club has made a permanent offer thus far, but Romano expects Ramsdale to leave Arsenal in one way or another this summer.

“Aaron Ramsdale also remains one to watch before the end of the summer,” wrote Romano.

“To be clear, Arsenal want a permanent sale for Ramsdale – they keep rejecting loan possibilities.

“Wolves and also Bournemouth are interested, both are attentive to the situation but neither club are submitting a permanent transfer proposal so far.

“My expectation is still for Ramsdale to leave Arsenal, in any case.”

Aaron Ramsdale set for same fate as Bernd Leno

Ramsdale joined Arsenal to a mixed reaction back in 2021 but quickly silenced his critics as he dethroned Bernd Leno as the Gunners’ first-choice in goal.

Now, the England international looks set to suffer the same fate that befell his predecessor, and a move away is on the cards.

And it’s very much for the best, because Ramsdale is an “incredible” goalkeeper who deserves much more than warming a bench.

Arsenal are said to be closing in on the sale of another “incredible” player, namely Eddie Nketiah. The Gunners striker could soon join Nottingham Forest.
