Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal have submitted offer for ‘big talent’
Arsenal have a busy few weeks ahead of them as they look to strengthen their ranks ahead of the new season.
The Gunners are believed to be in talks over Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori and have also beenཧ linked with a 𝓰number of other players.
While Arsenal will likely be prioritising senior players, they are certainly not neglecting th🍷e youth market.
Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Ar🎃senal have suꦿbmitted a first proposal for a “big talent” in the England youth setup.

Arsenal move for Ajax gem Tommy Setford
The player in question is Ajax goalkeeper Tommy Setford, who plays for the Dutch 🎶club’s Under-19s and has represented the Young Lions up to U19 level.
Romano has taken to X to report t𒅌hat Arsenal have made an offer to Ajax for the 18-year-old, and talks are said to be ꦦongoing.
S🃏etford, who was born in Haarlem and holds a Dutch passport, is also keen on a m💦ove to the Emirates Stadium, according to the transfer insider.
While Ajax see him as a “big talent”, his contract only runs until 2025, so they may feel they have💃 to cash in this summer or risk losing him for nothing next year.
Setford likes being part of the England setup
Although Setford was born in the Netherlands and holds a Dutch passport, ꦇhe is eligible to play for England th🐼rough his father’s nationality.
“It’s a great honour to play for England,” Setford told the last year. “It’s the land my father’s 🌃from, so I play for him a little.
“But they appreciate me at England: the coaches and goalkeeper cꦫoaches are happy with how I do things.”
Although tꦦhe Dutch FA (KNVB) has approached Setford, he doesn’t see a reason to switch.
“Not only are the U17 coaches happy with me, but the U21 coaches and the first🍌 team see that I perform well in England. They see a lot of potential in me.ﷺ”
