Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal are ‘making progress’ as they look to hand new contracts to two players

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal are making good progress over new contract talks with two of their key players.

Arsenal are keen to keep building for the future under Mikel Arteta after his team kept up the pressure on Liverpool at the top of the Premier League with a key win away at Leicester City.

The Gunners left it late against the Foxes but found a way to get over the line as Mikel Merino netted a brace in the fi𒆙nal 10 minℱutes at the King Power Stadium.

The North London club are now ready to reward two of their recent top perfor🦄mers with new contracts and the latest has been revealed on both situations.

Arsenal making good progress with Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly’s new contract

Arsenal are making “very good progress” with Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly over new deals as the latest round of talks have bee🐠n “very positive”, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly’s impressive pe𝔍rformances have also caught the eye of new England manager Thomas Tuchel who is considering both pꦫlayers for the future of h🦩is Three Lions team.

Romano told his YouTube channel: “Arsenal is making progress on new contracts for Lewis-Skelly and for Nw⛎aneri – Nwaneri is doing great, fantastic – this boy is incredible, also Lewis-Skelly and I can guarantee to you Thomas Tuchel is following these two players for the future of E🌊ngland.

Right now, the focus is on advancing with Nwaneri, who was Arse🌞nal𝔍’s best player at Leicester, and strong progress is being made.

“What is important to say about the contract of Nwaneri is that the progress is ver𓄧y good at this moment, and the expectation is to get everything ready very soon,” added Romano.

“The idea is to advance but already the recent contacts have been very positive and so Arsenal are preparing for the future with Nwa🐲neri and Lewis-Skelly.”

Who could Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly replace in the next England squad?

Looking back at Lee Carsley’s final England squad𓄧 both Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly could stand good chances of being named in Tuchel’s first.

Jack Grealish and Noni Madueke plus the injured Bukayo Saka and Dominic Solanke could make way for Nwaner♓i given the Three Lions’ lack of top right-wingers.

Meanwhile, in defence, Lewis-Skelly could be the answer to England’s left-back issue with Lewis Hall his biggest competition right now for that role.
