Fabrizio Romano says £85m player will leave Liverpool unless something ‘crazy’ happens
This summer transfer window is going to be a busy one at Liverpool.
Indeed, the Reds have plenty of work to do this summer and after failed moves for both Moises Caicedo and Martin Zubimendi over the last two years, the Reds should have money to spend.
Alexander Isak is a Liverpool target, while Milos Kerkez could join Liverpool too.
Of course, it could also be a big summer of outgoings at Liverpool too.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to join Real Madrid, while, according to Fabrizio Romano speaking on his YouTube channel, Darwin Nunez is almost guaranteed to leave Liverpool this summer, barring something crazy happening.

Darwin Nunez is almost guaranteed to leave Liverpool
Romano shared what he knows about the striker.
There have been murmurs for a while about Nunez leaving Liverpool, and now, Romano has firmed up that speculation.
The journalist says that he can confirm that Nunez is very likely to leave Liverpool this summer, claiming that, unless something crazy happens, the Uruguayan will go.
“I told you in February that Darwin Nunez was going to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window. And today I can confirm once again guys that this is the clear direction of the story,” Romano said.
“Darwin Nunez is expected to go, Darwin Nunez is expected to try something new. Darwin Nunez is ready for a new chapter and so Darwin can leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window and is fully expected to do so
“Darwin Nunez is almost a guarantee that he will leave Liverpool if nothing crazy happens, he’s expected to go and try a new chapter.”
Darwin Nunez’s value for money at Liverpool
Nunez is the most expensive player Liverpool have ever signed at , and it’s hard to argue that he’s provided value for money.
Yes, Nunez has won trophies with the Reds, and he has turned up in some big moments over the past few years.
However, consistency is king in football, and that’s where Nunez falls short.
A breakdown of Nunez’s transfer fee compared to what he has provided shows that this, ultimately, hasn’t been a good signing.
Darwin Nunez at Liverpool | |
Transfer fee | £85,000,000 |
Games | 138 |
Goals | 40 |
Assists | 26 |
£ per game | £616,000 |
£ per goal | £2,125,000 |
£ per assist | £3,269,000 |
Of course, if Liverpool can recoup most of that cash this summer, this deal won’t be seen as such a disaster, but, at the moment, it’s hard to say that Nunez has been anything but a flop.
Nunez will probably be a cult hero at Anfield forever due to his unorthodox style of play and his excitable personality, but, sadly, he won’t go down as an all-time great for the Reds.
