Fabrizio Romano says £25m player is ‘ready to say yes’ to joining Liverpool
Liverpool have just received a huge blow in the transfer market as Martin Zubimendi has rejected a move to Anfield.
The Spanish midfielder has decided to stay at Real Sociedad, and the Reds are still waiting to make their first signing of the summer.
While there have been new defenders and new midfielders linked with a move to Anfield, the Reds’ first signing of the summer could, in fact, be a goalkeeper.
Giorgi Mamardashvili has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield, and according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, the Valencia star is now ready to say yes to a move to Anfield.

Giorgi Mamardashvili ready to join Liverpool
According to Romano, Mamardashvili is ready to say yes to a move to Liverpool.
“On Mamardashvili. I see you asking about this Liverpool fans. I told you a few days ago on Playback that Liverpool’s interest in Mamardashvilli is something concrete,” Romano said.
“I can tell you that as of today the story remains on. Liverpool have on the table the possibility to go for Mamardashvili. Liverpool know there is this opportunity. They spoke to the agents of the player, they spoke to Valencia, now it is on Liverpool.
“Liverpool need to decide if they want to sign Mamardashvili and then loan him out because their goalkeeper next season will be Alisson, 100%, no chance to change.
“From what I’m hearing, Mamardashvili is ready to say yes to Liverpool, but going on loan for one or two years and then becoming number one after Alisson. That is a concrete possibility that Liverpool will consider.”

Mamardashvili signing doesn’t make much sense
Mamardashvili could be Liverpool’s first signing of the summer, but it has to be said that this signing doesn’t make the most sense.
As Romano says, Alisson is the Reds’ undisputed number one for the time being, while Caoimhin Kelleher is also a great option as a number two.
If there’s any position Liverpool don’t need to strengthen this summer, it’s the goalkeeper spot, and while Mamardashvili is a fantastic player, he’s not someone the Reds really need.
This would be a strange way to spend this summer.
