‘Arsenal have decided’: Romano offers transfer update Gunners fans will love

Arsenal are set for a busy last few weeks of the transfer window as they look to seal moves for a new midfielder and potentially, a new striker too.

Dusan Vlahovic remains the key target at the top of the pitch. The Serbian striker could be on the move before January rounds out, with Arsenal in one of the top positions to land him. However, midfield is another area of concern for Mikel Arteta to address and Juventus midfielder, Arthur Melo, is thought to be on his radar.

Reports yesterday had suggested Melo was on his way over to England. It was claimed he was ready to tell Juventus to let him leave. However, he was selected for the Juventus squad this weekend. That has thrown doubt on the move, with Arsenal fans probably wondering what’s going on.

But according to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal fans needn’t worry. He’s taken to his account to confirm that Arsenal will be pushing for Melo again this week.

The Brazilian midfielder is said to be open to moving to the Gunners. His hope is that Mikel Arteta gives him more game time. His move to Juventus has not quite hit the heights many would have expected.

Key, then, will be Arsenal putting forward the right proposal to convince Juve to do business.

TBR’s View: Arsenal Need To Sign Melo ASAP

This weekend’s debacle in cancelling the Tottenham game means Arsenal need to sign people. And quick. The fact they let Balogun and Maitland-Niles leave and then cancel a game has left a sour taste.

In terms of football, Melo is also a good signing. The Gunners need strength in midfield and the Brazilian certainly brings added quality and finesse. With Granit Xhaka suspended, it’s imperative Arsenal sort a new player soon.

With Melo wanting the move, the Gunners simply have to get this done this week.
