Fabrizio Romano issues Arsenal update on Sokratis and Emi Buendia

Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has given a double Arsenal transfer update and says contact has been made with the agent of Norwich midfielder, Emi Buendia.

Taking to his account, Romano indicated that as well as Mesut Ozil leaving in the coming days, the Gunners are also looking to move on Sokratis, while Buendia is still being touted as a potential incoming.

The Gunners are starting to free up some budget within the squad at the moment. Ozil’s massive £300k+ wages will be off the books, while Sokratis will also help ease the financial burden on the wage bill.

Buendia, then, has been linked throughout the window. Norwich are believed to be keen to keep their man and are said to be demanding around

Arsenal have been linked with a host of midfielders in Buendia’s position. The likes of Madrid’s Isco, Houssem Aouar, and Manor Solomon, all linked at different points during January.

TBR View: Things on the up for Arteta? It certainly seems it

A good run of results with the Palace draw thrown in and some players moving on means Arteta is finally getting his house in order at Arsenal.

Ozil moving is the big one. It’s been a shadow cast over the club all window and his wages are too big to be kept on doing nothing.

Buendia is an interesting one. He is clearly talented but would cost a big fee, something most media outlets do not believe Arsenal will be shelling out on during this window.

However, the update from Romano suggests movement at Arsenal, which is a good thing for Gunners fans.
