Fabrizio Romano shares Trent Alexander-Arnold contract update
The journalist gave an update on Alexander-Arnold’s situation.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold, since March we have mentioned the interest of Real Madrid,” Romano said.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold for sure is a player they really like, but we can’t mention any negotiation or discussions.
“Trent’s priority is Liverpool and he says he wants to win trophies. He keeps mentioning being very happy with Arne Slot and his contract negotiations being slient and not in the media, that was the message from Trent.
“What does this mean? It means Trent will have negotiations and will keep discussing with Liverpool their project, the idea they have, what they want at the club in the next years. It will also be about money, but the main focus is the project. The priority will be for Liverpool, Liverpool will have the chance to extend the contract of Trent.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold should stay
The allure of a move to Real Madrid is very real, but Alexander-Arnold should stay at Liverpool.
The full-back is well on his way to becoming one of Anfield’s all-time greats. He’s the next in line for the captaincy, and the Reds seem to be moving in the right direction under Arne Slot.
Alexander-Arnold has achieved a lot at Liverpool so far, but it does feel like his story remains unfinished on Merseyside.
The defender should stay at Anfield for the next stage of his career, and perhaps he can get a move to Madrid once he’s achieved all he can at his boyhood club.
